It has 18 cm. The male is bluish-gray, with spots on the wing and tail sides. The female is dun with brown wing spots and yellow beak. It has a full chant:
Food:
It is a grains and fruit eater. With a quick movement of the beak it turns the dead leaves to find seeds and fallen fruit, this movement is also used for extraction of seeds that fell into a crevasse, it throws the grains on the ground to catch them after.
Reproduction:
During courtship the male tends to bow to the female. The couples are inseparable and make thin nests, looking underneath them, it is possible to see the eggs. Usually 2 white eggs are laid.
Habitat:
Can be found at the edge of forests, in marshes and near homes. Flies well. It produces a whistling noise. Moves on the ground walking with the small and fast steps; it stops the head with every step, for a moment, in order to better observe the surroundings. It never bounces. Yawn. Do not hide its head beneath the back feathers to sleep. Likes to bathe.
